On the evening of Halloween 2009,
we conducted an investigation at the Cross Keys Hotel, in Peebles, which is
regarded as one of the most haunted places in The Scottish Borders. This event was to raise money for the Anthony
Nolan Trust and we were assisted by medium Brian Boyle.
After doing a walk round
with Brian Boyle and finding certain parts which seemed more active than
others, we then split up into four groups taking members of the public round
the four most active areas. We used our
equipment and involved people in using dowsing rods, camcorders, temp gauges,
crystals and emf meters with a large degree of success. We also used an old table in the upstairs
dining room which had come from London, where it was the only thing to survive
a serious fire. This table was used with
a talking board using a glass and many were given information that others
couldn’t have known.When someone
recognised the information as being for them they were asked to remove their
finger from the glass to ensure that the details couldn’t be coming from that
individual.
Allin all it proved to be a very interesting
evening.
Raehills Estate
April 2009
In April 2009 we once
again supported the Anthony Nolan Trust in one of their annual events which are
supported by Derek Acorah. The venue was
Raehills House, Nr Dumfries, the home of Lord and Lady Johnstone and also that of The Clan Johnstone. This was especially
poignant for Derek as some of you may be aware is own name is Johnstone,
athough he performs under his Grandmothers name – Acorah, she was the one who
encouraged him to develop his mediumship as she was a well known medium
herself.
The
evening began with a dinner hosted by Derek for members of the public who had
raised money for ANT whilst we got our equipment organised and made ourselves
familiar with the venue.
Although
we used camcorders,emf meters, voice
recorders, dowsing rods, crystals and temperatures gauges this was not a venue
that could be regarded as being properly regulated due to the presence of
members of the public, however there was quite a response when using the
dowsing rods and crystals and some orbs were seen on camcorders.Unfortunately due to the security of the
venue we were unable to use our digital cameras.
During
the evening we were treated to an excellent display of mediumship by Derek
Accorah who gave some people amazing information andit was a very good night.
Investigation by BPG at Cottage, SmallVillage,
Scottish Borders
June 2009
The Borders
Paranormal Group were invited by the owner of a cottage, based in a small
village in the Scottish Borders, to do an investigation of their property which
was probably built when the village was founded. The owner was concerned as she
felt she was being watched in certain rooms in the house and also that she saw
spirit people moving through her bedroom.
So one Saturday
night, armed with night vision cameras, EMF meters, laser thermometers, dowsing
rods and ourselves, we headed off to carry out an investigation at this local
village.
On entering the
property some members of the group immediately started feeling a strange
sensation in their heads. It was like the atmosphere was charged. There was
definitely a presence here. The downstairs area consisted of a kitchen (not
part of the original dwelling), a sitting room and an extension (also not part
of the original building).
We decided to
start in the extension at the back of the house where the owner felt she was
being watched while using her computer. Being approximately 9.30pm on asummer evening we closed the curtains so that
our night vision cameras could pick up anything unusual. I had an impression of
an old stooped man with large ears. I tried asking his name and if he had lived
there and why was he was still hanging about. He told one of the other members
of the group that I was a nosy bisom!! and was quite angry when we came into
the house. He did say his name was John and the dowsing rods confirmed this. He
also said he shod horses and ploughed the land, his land he said. A couple of
people in the group were having their hair touched at this point. As he seemed
to leave the room he mentioned 13 steps, the Army and First World War.
Next we ventured
up the stairs (definite heavy atmosphere) and stayed awhile on the landing and
top of the stairs. I felt light-headed looking over the banister and the owner
told me she had once fainted in that spot. Another group member picked up that
the gentleman’s wife died at that spot so there must be some kind of energy
there. We did ask the question as we all felt really sad there. We were then
picking up on a younger spirit and a Sailor who was in the Navy – name of
Leonard who wouldn’t talk to us because of his bible teaching he said!! He also
said he was buried in the graveyard up the road but a quick visit by some of
the group (in the dark) didn’t turn up anything.
We visited two
other bedrooms but although there was the same heaviness we didn’t actually
pick anything up.
The owner’s
bedroom was the room where everyone felt strange sensations, including the
owner herself. We formed a circle and asked any spirits in the room to converse
with us. I picked up two elderly women, Mary Anne or Margaret Anne who seemed
to be linked to the elderly man that was hanging about downstairs. She said she
had Peggy with her and they seemed to be chatting to each other. They said the
village was a special place for them and I could see Mary Ann waving a handkerchief
or similar. I asked them to take the gentleman away but one of them said he was
a stubborn old goat. One of the other members of our group was then touched on
the face – a feeling like a feather. The owner of the house was tapped on the
shoulder and had to leave the circle and sit on her bed as she felt unwell.
We then asked
our spirit guides to remove any unwanted spirits from the building and only
family and friendly spirits be allowed to enter. We asked for a guard to be put
on any portals in the room.
Although our
night vision cameras and other equipment didn’t actually pick up any concrete
evidence, all who attended agreed that the cottage had either unwanted visitors
or something weird in the atmosphere.
The owner has
since contacted the BPG and reported that things have quietened down in the
building so that is good to know.
